We are looking for an experienced Head of Construction and Projects to lead the delivery of our new park developments, refurbishments and capital investment programme.
This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for managing our internal Project Team and a network of external construction companies, consultants and specialist suppliers.
You will oversee projects from initial feasibility and design through to construction, operational handover and opening.
Working closely with our Managing Director, Activeon Group, the Chief Development Officer and UK operational teams, you will ensure every project is delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and develop the internal Project Team.
- Deliver new park developments from feasibility and concept through to completion and opening.
- Plan and manage the annual CAPEX programme across our existing park network.
- Procure, appoint and manage construction companies, consultants and specialist suppliers.
- Maintain oversight of project programmes, budgets, risks, variations and key milestones.
- Ensure projects meet operational, commercial, customer, brand and safety requirements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant construction, building, fire, accessibility and health and safety requirements.
- Manage testing, commissioning, snagging, handover and operational-readiness processes.
- Provide clear project, cost and risk reporting to senior stakeholders.
- Build strong relationships across Operations, Finance, Health and Safety, Group development teams and external partners.
About You
You will be an experienced construction or project leader with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex development, refurbishment or multi-site CAPEX programmes.
You will be commercially focused, highly organised and confident managing multiple projects, budgets and external construction partners.
You will be comfortable challenging costs, programmes and performance while maintaining strong and productive stakeholder relationships.
You will also have
- Experience leading project teams and managing contractors, consultants and suppliers.
- Strong project-management, budgeting, procurement and risk-management skills.
- Sound knowledge of construction health and safety and relevant compliance requirements.
- Strong leadership, communication and decision-making skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and travel regularly to project sites.
- A recognised qualification in construction, property, engineering, surveying or project management.
Experience within leisure, hospitality, retail, attractions or another customer-facing multi-site business would be advantageous, particularly where projects have been delivered within live operational environments.
