R10077377 Diesel Engine Technician (Open)Location:Grimsby, ON (RDA) (I) – Welding equipment rentalUnder the direction of the Branch Manager, the incumbent repairs, refurbishes, and maintains engine driven welding equipment, electrical welding equipment and generators and ensures a safe working environment.* Ensures a safe work environment by following Airgas/Red-D-Arc’s health and safety guidelines.* Repairs and refurbishes all Electric and Diesel Engine Drives.* Assembles electric, diesel, gas, and propane equipment for rental. Tests and calibrates machines to see if they are functional for rent or sale.* Touches up paint, and replaces worn and missing decals on welders to maintain general appearance.* Replaces defective parts and completes preventative maintenance required.* Identifies proper parts and their numbers needed for repairs, orders parts as required to complete those repairs through the Parts Coordinator or Branch Coordinator.* Inspects returned equipment for proper operation and/or damage by the customer.* Operates a forklift, pallet jack or other necessary equipment to stock required parts in the shop.* Ensures a clean and organized work environment at all times.* Properly documents all repairs and maintenance.* Occasionally required to service equipment and customers off-site.* Maintains communication with all branch personnel.* Occasionally advises customers regarding best equipment for their projects.* Performs field work as needed.* Performs other related duties.## \\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_## * 2-4 years of related technical experience, working knowledge of **Diesel Engines**, power generating and welding equipment, welding application and equipment is an asset.* High School Diploma or GED* Post secondary education equivalent to a one year Technical College or equivalent is an asset.* Ability to act proactively or provide a solution with work-related problems.* Adaptable to set and prioritize work with varying exceptions.* Attention to detail and solid organizational skills.* Ability to multi-task and work independently with little supervision.* Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.Must have a Valid Driver License\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_\\_**Benefits**We care about and support all Airgas associates.
