Job Overview

Plant Operator – Portsmouth, VA. Monday‑Friday 6am‑2:30pm.

Job Duties

• Care for and steward equipment within production facility, including compressors, pumps, filling stations, and forklifts.
• Engage in routine inspections and maintenance to keep equipment in excellent condition.
• Safely support flow and transport of cylinders—including filling and quality checks—prioritizing the well‑being of the team.
• Operate forklifts to move materials and products within the facility safely and efficiently.
• Contribute to accurate records of equipment maintenance, cylinder tracking, and production activities.
• Maintain commitment to all safety protocols and procedures.
• Participate in collaborative team meetings and safety initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• 21 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong curiosity and problem solving skills related to equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in plant operations, industrial maintenance, or related field.
• Technical certification in industrial operations.
• Industrial gas experience.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Commitment to safety and protocols.
• Comfort with operating forklift safely.
• Flexibility to work shifts and occasional extra hours when needed.
