As a Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with key clients across the southern region of England. You will drive sales growth by understanding customer needs, promoting tailored ventilation solutions, and ensuring exceptional service delivery. You’ll work with merchants, key electrical wholesalers, distributors and their associated contractors to promote our market-leading ventilation solutions.

Responsibilities
- Manage and grow relationships with existing key accounts across the southern region
- Establish a professional working relationship with Senior Contacts within the Merchant Channel and to plan activity within these Senior Contacts sales areas; Whilst also working with identified Key Electrical Wholesalers
- Identify and secure new business opportunities within your territory
- Acquire a thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirements to ensure Airflow become their ventilation brand of choice;
- Deliver technical product presentations and training to customers and stakeholders.
- Work closely to formulate effective working relationships with Branch Managers, Store Managers, Showroom Managers and other key branch employees to ensure Airflow products are the first ventilation product of choice in these identified resellers;
- Collaborate with internal teams (Technical, Customer Service, Logistics) to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Log activity onto a CRM system and use this tool for information to conduct professional sales meetings;
- Cover the region to ensure all identified customers as well as favoured National customers are seen:
- Key Account Head office contacts must be seen quarterly to discuss sales numbers & activity plan:
- Outlook diary to be current & updated with months calls logged:
- 3 fixed ‘business’ appointments a day, call criteria to be agreed by line manager;
- Focus on personal & contribute to teams sales targets and how to achieve and exceed these targets;
- Serve as the link of communication between key customers and Airflow internal teams;
- Resolve any issues and problems faced by customers and deal with complaints to maintain trust;
- Ensure all Airflow reports are submitted in a timely and correct manner;
- Play an integral part in generating new sales that will turn into long-lasting relationships;
- Work closely with immediate line management, senior management and internal and external colleagues whilst also being considerate to individuals’ priorities; and
- Prepare regular reports of key customers progress and forecasts to Airflow management and external key decision makers;
- Be an effective communicator both verbally and in writing;
Key Competencies & Requirements
- Proven experience in B2B sales or account management, ideally within the HVAC, construction, or building products industry
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage complex sales cycles and project-based selling
- Self-motivated, well-organised, and able to work independently
- Full UK driving licence (field-based role)
- Must be able to demonstrate proven problem-solving and negotiation
- Previous experience of using a Customer Record Management system;
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to grasp technology and legislation;
- Ability to demonstrate how to analyse sales data to enable them to understand their area and identify any key concerns or opportunities; and
- Time management is key success indicator
- Fluent in the English Language both spoken and written;
- Proficient in the use of Office 365 software to include – Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Outlook;
- 2 years minimum sales experience, preferably within the ventilation sector and/or Merchant sector;
- Must be able to demonstrate previous sales results focused with good communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be prepared to travel and work evenings and weekends when the business requires it.
