About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Fire Engineer to join our growing team.

This role offers the opportunity to lead and support a wide range of fire engineering projects for local authorities, housing associations, developers and contractors. Working closely with the Delivery Director and wider multidisciplinary team, you will provide technical expertise across fire risk assessments, fire strategies, remediation projects and building safety compliance.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting clients, mentoring colleagues and contributing to the continued growth and development of our fire engineering offering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake internal and external Fire Risk Assessments, including intrusive inspections where required
  • Produce fire strategies, fire statements, fire safety management plans and associated technical reports
  • Advise clients on fire safety compliance across existing and new-build developments
  • Review fire safety information, technical documentation and design proposals
  • Provide practical and cost-effective fire engineering solutions
  • Support refurbishment, remediation and recladding projects
  • Peer review reports and technical outputs from other team members
  • Attend client, contractor and resident meetings as required
  • Support Building Safety Regulator applications and compliance activities
  • Assist with business development, client relationship management and team development

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

  • Minimum 10 years' relevant post-qualification experience in fire engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience undertaking Fire Risk Assessments and fire engineering assessments
  • Experience preparing retrospective and design fire strategies
  • Understanding of compartmentation surveys and fire protection measures
  • Experience supporting refurbishment, remediation and recladding projects
  • Strong understanding of current fire safety legislation and industry guidance
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to deliver technical solutions within a fast-paced environment
