We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of Technical to join us in developing our plans for a new hospital for Airedale. On 25 May 2023, the Government announced that Airedale General Hospital will be rebuilt by 2030, in recognition of the current structural issues facing the existing hospital.
This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to be involved in a major hospital development. We are seeking an enthusiastic Head of Technical to join our team and help advance our scheme.

Main Duties of the Job

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential:
- Chartered professional membership of an appropriate construction or engineering institution
- Masters degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
- Experience in NHS or other high-profile organizations
Experience
Essential:
- Experience delivering Estates, Facilities, and Capital projects in healthcare
- Experience managing or supporting large-scale change programs in the public sector
- Proven management success in NHS Trusts or similar
- Expertise in construction management, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management
- Experience in policy or service development and governance processes
Knowledge
Essential:
- Knowledge of the New Hospital Programme
- Awareness of guidance on Reinforced Aerated Autoclaved Concrete (RAAC)
- Understanding of construction methodologies including MMC
- Knowledge of healthcare M&E systems, regulations, standards by CQC, and sustainable policies including NZC
