What Are We Looking For
Airco is seeking an experienced Senior Building Services Design Engineer to join our expanding in-house design team at our Hull head office. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven professional with a strong background in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) design across a diverse range of sectors. You will lead clients from early concept stages through to detailed design delivery, producing detailed calculations alongside accurate GA drawings, system schematics, technical specifications, and equipment selections. With decarbonisation now a central focus in the industry, candidates with experience in decarbonisation projects and applying for associated funding schemes will be strong contenders. A solid understanding of renewable technologies, energy analysis, and integrating low-carbon solutions into building designs is essential.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- A highly motivated individual with a passion for succeeding and developing
- Minimum HNC in Building Services or equivalent; significant experience will be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
- A proven track record of delivering a variety of Building Services MEP (Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) projects both in terms of scale and sector
- A solid understanding in mechanical building services as a whole, experience in electrical services would be a benefit.
- Ability to engage with clients, contractors and design team members in technical discussions
- Experience using industry standard software packages such as CAD, Hevacomp and IES etc
- Experience of low carbon systems, design and how to influence the built environment to reduce carbon emissions
- A strong level of proficiency in energy data analysis
- Knowledge of the UK regulatory, energy and carbon policies would be an advantage along with previous experience of decarbonisation funding.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 dependent on experience
