About the Role… Enjoy working with your hands but want a more intellectually stimulating role? Happy with reports, documents and data? Then we’d love to hear from you. We’re looking for someone who can learn or increase their mechanical skills and develop into a Propulsion Test Engineer to join a tight knit group. This role requires frequent travel. You will be working on multiple projects and in high risk environments, so safety is critical.
A Propulsion Test Engineer performs Testing and Launch support of Spacecraft Propulsion Systems and components from preparation of equipment and documentation, test execution and recording of data to reporting. Working on multiple projects, both Telecoms and ENS spacecraft, and often offsite.
How will you contribute to the team…
- Perform propulsion test & spacecraft launch services activities to strict quality and technical requirements.
- Organise equipment logistics to provide support to specific projects as required.
- Support the writing of documentation required for test phases, including: Technical Notes, Test Procedures and Test Reports.
- Provide feedback to process owners to ensure test methods are consistent, including lessons Learned exercises.
- Maintain and operate ground support equipment specific to the requirements of the propulsion system.
About you…
- Must be able to read, understand and follow engineering drawings and schematics.
- Engineering based HNC/HND or equivalent experience.
- Experience using hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches etc) and some mechanical practical experience.
- Interested in learning about mechanical and pneumatic systems, gases and electrical systems.
- Safety conscious as you will be working with high pressure gases and hazardous substances.
