Join Guidant as we collaborate with the world\’s largest aircraft manufacturer, Airbus. We are seeking skilled Aircraft Fitters to join Airbus\’ dynamic team at the prestigious Broughton site, within the Wing Build Production section. If you have experience in a similar manufacturing or engineering role, we invite you to apply.
At Airbus Broughton, you\’ll play an integral role in assembling wings for Airbus\’s entire range of commercial aircraft, including the A320, A330, and the advanced A350XWB (extra wide body) planes.
What to expect as a Skilled Aircraft Fitter
Work on one of the most technically intricate components of an aircraft—wings, which are essential for aerodynamic performance and eco-efficiency. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assembly, general fittings, and component installations.
- Repairs on metallic and composite materials.
- Occasional work in confined spaces or at heights.
Flexible shift options:
- Double Days: Week 1 – 06:00 to 13:10, Week 2 – 13:30 to 20:40 (Monday to Friday)
- Nights: 20:45 to 06:00 (Monday to Thursday)
Requirements to be considered:
- Completed Aerospace or Engineering Full Apprenticeship.
- Experience in roles such as Sheet Metal Worker, Metal Fabricator, Welder, or Mechanical Fitter.
- Additional accepted qualifications include Indenture, City & Guilds Level 2, BTEC ONC, Modern Apprenticeship Certificate, NVQ Level 2 or 3, Key Skills Level 2, and City & Guilds Level 2/BTEC ONC in engineering.
- Self-motivated with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Openness to continuous improvement and innovative approaches.
- High standards of Health and Safety compliance.
