Prestwick Aerosystems continues Ayrshire’s long-standing aircraft manufacturing heritage. From our Prestwick site, we manufacture aircraft wing structures used on Airbus commercial aircraft worldwide. As part of our Environmental, Health & Safety function, you will take full responsibility for how safety is delivered across a high-risk aerospace manufacturing environment, driving standards, influencing leaders, and ensuring our people go home safe every day. You will be the link between strategy and operations, turning policy into action, leading a team of specialists, and embedding a culture where safety is non-negotiable.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and direct the on-site Health & Safety team, setting priorities, driving performance, and ensuring consistent delivery of safety activity across operations.
- Take full ownership of site-wide health and safety performance, ensuring risks are identified, controlled and continuously reduced in line with regulatory requirements.
- Lead incident investigations, audits and assurance activity, driving root cause analysis and holding the business accountable for effective corrective action.
- Influence and challenge leaders at all levels to embed health and safety into operational decision-making and day-to-day behaviours.
Qualifications:
- Strong working knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and its application in manufacturing or engineering.
- Proven experience leading or supervising health and safety activity within a regulated environment.
- Experience delivering risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and working towards or holding IOSH Chartered status.
