We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ground Systems Test Engineer to join our team at AIRBUS Defence and Space Limited. This role involves the meticulous testing and validation of spacecraft control systems and software for critical space missions, ensuring their performance, reliability, and compliance with stringent aerospace standards.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM
- Develop, execute, and document integration plans, and processes for Spacecraft Ground Control software and systems.
- Develop, execute, and document test plans, procedures, and cases for Spacecraft Control Centre software and systems.
- Administer and maintain System Reference Model (SRM) test facilities and computer systems.
- Conduct functional, performance, integration, and regression testing of SCC components, including flight software, ground segment software, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) systems.
- Analyze test results, identify defects, and report issues using established defect tracking systems.
- Collaborate with software developers, system engineers, and mission operations teams to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Participate in formal reviews and audits of test documentation and results.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.
- Provide technical expertise and support during critical mission phases, including launch and in-orbit operations.
- Ensure all testing activities comply with AIRBUS Defense and Space quality standards and industry regulations.
ABOUT YOU
- Proven experience in Integration and validation of complex systems, preferably in the space or aerospace industry.
- Strong understanding of Spacecraft Control Centre (SCC) architectures and functionalities.
- Proficiency with Red Hat and Windows operating systems.
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Windchill, SVN, Git).
- Familiarity with defect tracking systems (e.g., JIRA).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively articulate technical concepts.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
