Procurement is seeking a qualified Buyer in the Connectivity and Antenna Telecom Payload segment to support Airbus Defence and Space’s space business units. The role involves developing strategic supplier relationships, managing complex work packages, and executing procurement strategies for key commodities.
Responsibilities
- Execute the commodity strategy for assigned areas.
- Manage supplier relationships and conduct supplier evaluations, financial analyses, and risk assessments.
- Lead calls for tenders, negotiations, and supplier selection processes to meet program expectations.
- Set up, negotiate, and manage contractual agreements, including contract exit and new supplier contracts.
- Collaborate with multifunctional teams (engineering, supply‑chain, services, finance, PMO, quality) to safeguard the application of sub‑commodity strategies.
- Support value‑creation projects, initiatives, and innovation, including digitalization efforts.
- Provide insights for supplier evaluation development and vendor management action plans.
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Business Management, or an equivalent field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in procurement, engineering, service, or project management roles.
- Strong negotiation skills with proven ability to influence and persuade.
- Experience in a matrix environment with successful stakeholder management.
- Knowledge of antennas and space RF communications is advantageous.
- Proficiency in English at a negotiation level; French language skills are a plus.
- International experience and familiarity with SAP are beneficial.
- Knowledge of AI‑related IT tools is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate, assess, and mitigate risks.
- Excellent relationship‑building, team‑building, empowerment, motivation, and conflict‑management skills.
