About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Surface Protection and Metallics team, part of the Manufacturing Technologies function in Broughton. Core activities include supporting and improving paint and coating processes on site, providing specialist technical support, defining new equipment and application processes and project management for deploying changes.
How you will contribute to the Team
- Define the requirements for new paint and coating processes.
- Support design and development of new assets in scope of paint and coating processes.
- Act as technical referential for the Broughton site and provide key technical support.
- Ownership of group-wide technical documentation.
- Lead development testing for the next generation of paints and coatings.
- Develop improvement ideas and new processes for paints and coatings.
- Manage Capital investment projects and participate in multi-functional teams.
- Manage the CapEx process for medium scale and high value investment projects.
About You
- Degree level qualification (or equivalent) in Engineering or Chemistry.
- Experience and a good awareness of existing products and techniques in the field of paints and coatings.
- Previous experience of project management would be advantageous.
- Ability to work within an MFT as a Technical contributor and leader.
- Proficient digital and data analysis skills.
- An understanding and awareness of the drivers for change in the paints and coatings industry in the short and medium term.
- Previous problem solving experience. Knowledge of advanced techniques is preferred.
- The ability to understand, translate and present complex data in meaningful terms to a non-technical audience and/or senior stakeholders.
