Reporting directly to the HO Global Logistic Network, you will act as the strategic and operational focal point for all logistics activities at Brize Norton, ensuring 24/7 support for the UK A400M customer fleet under critical Aircraft On Ground (AOG) conditions. You will lead a high-performing team of 25+ staff while collaborating closely with Demand, Planning, Procurement, MRO teams and Quality to optimize warehouse performance, manage multimillion-euro budgets, and drive continuous improvement across the supply chain network.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM:

  • You will support the Royal Air Force while being part of our international network supporting A400M operators.
  • You will manage and lead a 24/7 operational team of over 25 personnel with 2 direct-report team leaders, ensuring strict adherence to Customer Services KPIs and safeguarding critical AOG operations.
  • You will monitor, control, and optimize a multimillion-euro warehousing and customs budget, driving cost efficiency without compromising service quality.
  • You will oversee more than 50,000 logistics movements annually, ensuring full physical and financial reliability for multimillion-euro Airbus’ and customer inventory.
  • You will manage 5+ key transportation contracts, monitor 3PL/4PL performance, and act as the main interface with Customs and Export Control to resolve import/export issues proactively.
  • You will generate weekly and monthly performance dashboards, financial reports, and risk mitigation strategies to provide end-to-end visibility to senior leadership.
  • You will lead logistics projects, conduct regular warehouse performance assessments, and drive operational excellence by implementing swift corrective actions.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Experience in operational logistics leadership, managing large teams and 24/7 shift patterns within a fast-paced environment (aerospace or defense sector experience is highly advantageous).
  • Experience managing large-scale warehousing operations, inventory control (specifically high-value stock), and complex transportation networks.
  • Experience with financial accountability, including budget management, cost-containment measures, and P&L optimization.
  • Knowledge of customs procedures, export controls, and managing third-party/fourth-party logistics (3PL/4PL) contracts and Statements of Work (SoW).
  • Experience dealing with time-critical operations and resolving second-level incidents, particularly under AOG conditions.
  • Analytical and reporting skills with the ability to produce comprehensive KPI dashboards, financial forecasts, and strategic risk assessments.
  • Stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills to effectively partner with Procurement, MRO, Planning, and Quality teams.

HOW WE CAN SUPPORT YOU:

Many of our staff work flexibly in many different ways, including part-time. Please talk to us at the interview about the flexibility you need and we’ll always do our best to accommodate your request. Please let us know if you need us to make any adjustments for the selection process – you can share this with your Talent Acquisition Partner if you are invited to interview.
