Prestwick Aerosystems continues Ayrshire’s long-standing aircraft manufacturing tradition. From our Prestwick site, we manufacture aircraft wing structures used on Airbus commercial aircraft programmes worldwide.
As a Logistics Level 1 Operative, you will play a key role in supporting production and customer delivery by ensuring materials are received, controlled, stored and issued accurately within a regulated aerospace manufacturing environment. Working as part of the site Logistics team, you will support stable operations through effective material handling, inventory control and system accuracy.
How you will contribute to the team
- Manage the receipt, movement, storage and shipment of material in line with the Master Production Schedule, ensuring production and customer requirements are supported.
- Accept and reject deliveries in accordance with SO2 approvals, verifying purchase order requirements, certification, authorised signatories and placing non‐conforming material into impound where required.
- Complete inventory activities including weekly cycle counts and quarterly stock checks, maintaining accurate stock records across stores, work‐in‐progress and system data.
- Perform accurate ERP (SAP) transactions to maintain correct material status, location, traceability and compliance with company and regulatory requirements (including CAA and SOX).
Requirements for the role
- Working knowledge of logistics processes including goods receipt, inventory control, material handling and dispatch activities.
- Ability to use ERP systems (SAP) to accurately record stock movements, locations, WIP and material status.
- An SVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) or be working towards this.
- Approval, or the ability to gain approval, to operate relevant logistical equipment (e.g. forklift, crane) in line with site requirements.
