A vacancy has arisen at Airbus Filton in Bristol UK for the role of Advanced Test Specialist in the Landing Gear Test Team providing guidance and leadership to perform Test and Analytics Activity and to act as a reference to other parts of the Landing Gear Test Team to define strategies for New and Continuous Development activities.
Activities in Landing Gear Test are wide and varied encompassing Rig Testing, Flight Testing and In Service Support and our Advanced Test Specialists are required to have experience in some or all of these fields in order to be able to act as a referent.
We are looking for someone with some relevant Avionic or Hyd Mech experience, who is motivated by Innovation and problem solving through collaboration.
Someone who will develop with us over the coming decade to achieve our strategic objective of applying new techniques to Landing Gear Testing.
Are you someone who enjoys getting hands‑on with our products, interrogating data generated on them, and rigorously assessing their performance?
Are you someone who needs to see tangible results - excited by technical challenges, fault finding and resolving technical problems with creative solutions with a digital mind‑set.
- HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM
- Develop test strategies for laboratory testing that align with project objectives including establishing requirements for test facilities to meet objectives.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, system designers, and project managers to identify testing needs and requirements on specific projects or developments.
- Define the scope, sequence, and schedule of Laboratory testing strategy, ensuring to have an optimised lab&flight test plan
- Support development and certification of landing gear systems through integrated testing and analysis
- Establish and improve the maturity of aircraft systems through testing and the collaboration with other engineering teams
- Support design reviews, offering technical guidance and formal validation of test requirements, interfaces, support to V&V and testing activities.
- Identify, capture and clearly report technical risks for project attention, especially robust integration and architecture activities.
- Actively contribute to mitigation or contingency plans.
ABOUT YOU
- Good Experience of running projects at a senior level and engaging with stakeholders
- Great interpersonal skills and capable of working as a team and autonomously
- Knowledge of landing gear systems or other aircraft systems
- Knowledge of project management tools, techniques and governance for complex projects
- Knowledge of data analysis
- Validation and Verification process knowledge (V&V)
- English – Negotiation level
