About the role
Guidant Global is partnering with Airbus UK to recruit an Industrial Assembly Engineer to join the Assembly Technologies team at their Broughton site. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting and improving aircraft wing manufacturing through the development, deployment, and optimisation of drilling and fastening equipment and processes. Working on the night shift, you'll combine hands‑on technical expertise with project delivery, supporting both existing operations and the introduction of new technologies in a fast‑paced, highly regulated manufacturing environment.
What you'll be doing
- Deploying and supporting manual and semi-automated drilling and fastening equipment within wing manufacturing operations
- Defining new equipment requirements and developing new assembly processes to support production and future technologies
- Providing technical and project support to existing machinery and manufacturing systems
- Delivering continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on productivity, quality, safety, and efficiency
- Managing and contributing to capital investment and improvement projects, working with cross-functional teams
- Supporting manufacturing operations with methods and process engineering expertise
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders, transnational colleagues, and external suppliers to ensure successful project delivery
- Leading and contributing to EHS and continuous improvement projects aligned with site and business objectives
What we're looking for
We’re keen to hear from candidates who bring a strong engineering mindset and practical manufacturing experience. You’ll ideally have:
- A solid technical background in shopfloor manufacturing processes, ideally drilling and/or fastening
- A good understanding of aircraft wing build or complex assembly processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured and detail-focused approach
- Confidence working across multi-functional teams and engaging with a range of stakeholders
- Clear and effective communication skills, with fluent English at a professional level
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience using office‑based digital tools (e.g., spreadsheets, presentations, email)
- A degree-level qualification in Engineering (or equivalent experience) – desirable but not essential
