About us: Join the Safety & Compliance team based in RAF Brize Norton and become part of the support network for the A400M "Atlas"—the most advanced, proven, and certified airlifter available today, combining 21st century state-of-the-art technologies to fulfil the current and upcoming armed forces’ needs! Our team is responsible for managing the Quality and Safety Management Systems. We ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards, meet customer requirements, and incorporate industry best practices. Our goal is to implement a framework where Quality and Safety become cross-functional responsibilities, driving better standards across all teams within Airbus Military UK.
What you will be doing: This role plays a critical part in supporting flight operations, maintaining safe aircraft and delivering armed forces projects around the world. You will be based in the dynamic Safety & Compliance Department, located in the A400M Maintenance Facility. Here you will be part of a safety investigation and auditing team. No two days will ever be the same, from conducting investigations of equipment failures on the physical aircraft, inspections of the aircraft's performance, and auditing the facilities we operate from. This is an exciting challenge, with plenty of opportunities to develop your engineering and technical skills:
- Promoting safe ways of thinking and safety ideas within the organisation;
- Data Analysis of safety occurrences and compliance issues to identify the root causes;
- Identify and problem solving of maintenance issues to stop them reoccurring;
- Data Trending to identify areas of improvement and present to the wider Airbus Engineering Community.
Requirements: Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application. Your application should include a CV along with a Cover Letter outlining your motivation and suitability for the role. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Must be studying for a degree in Aerospace engineering or equivalent;
- Familiar with Microsoft and Google Tools;
- Understanding of Data Trending/Analysis;
- Understanding of Engineering Practices;
- Understanding of Safety Engineering Principles;
- Pro-active attitude, adaptable and positive engagement;
- Be able to collaborate well within a team;
- Having a UK driving licence and having your own car would be beneficial.
SECURITY CLEARANCE: You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. You may also need to gain UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.
