HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM
You will perform and assure structural assemblies of metallic and/or composite components following drawing requirements and applicable standards.
- You will carry out the precise preparation of components, including both metallic and composite stacks, prior to assembly.
- You will perform drilling, ensure structural continuity, and execute fastening of parts, applying necessary surface protections (e.g., sealant, alodine).
- You will strictly ensure that all operations are executed according to drawing requirements and quality standards, maintaining full traceability in the system.
- You will apply the Environmental Management System and maintain order to guarantee a safe work area.
ABOUT YOU
You will need to demonstrate the following essential skills and knowledge:
- Formal Engineering Apprenticeship or Equivalent: Completion of a full, relevant Aerospace or Engineering Apprenticeship (e.g., Mechanical Fitting, Sheet Metal Worker, or Maintenance Fitter) or possession of an equivalent relevant technical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or HNC/HND in an engineering discipline).
- NDT Level 2 Certification (Penetrant Testing - PT): Specific certification in Penetrant Testing (PT), typically to at least Level 2 in accordance with a recognised standard like EN 4179 (Aerospace), PCN (Personnel Certification in Non-Destructive Testing), or ASNT (American Society for Non-Destructive Testing).
- Health and Safety Training: A robust understanding and certification in relevant Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards, particularly those related to handling chemicals (the penetrant materials) and working in an industrial/workshop environment.
- Industry/Process Specific Experience: Demonstrable experience in an aerospace manufacturing, maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO), or heavy engineering environment, with practical experience in NDT techniques and quality control processes.
