About the Role
As a Wing Build Support Engineer, you will be part of the Plant Engineering Team supporting the Single Aisle Component Delivery Teams (CDTs). You will provide fast, effective engineering support that keeps production moving, while also identifying opportunities to improve how things are built. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys being handsāon, solving technical challenges, and working directly with manufacturing teams to deliver solutions that make a real impact.
What You Will Be Doing
You will play a key role in ensuring smooth integration between Engineering and Manufacturing, including:
- Acting as the link between Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure designs are optimised for the industrial environment while meeting customer requirements.
- Providing lineside engineering support, including investigating and resolving designārelated issues via root cause analysis.
- Communicating industrial requirements into the wider engineering community.
- Supporting product improvements to reduce recurring and nonārecurring costs and drive down nonāconformances.
- Identifying and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across methods, tools, and processes (e.g., MEET ethos, AOS and sustainability goals).
- Acting as deputy to the Delivery Team Leader where required.
What We Are Looking For
You do not need specific qualificationsāthe emphasis is on strong, relevant experience.
- Experience in aerospace or similar highāprecision engineering environments.
- Strong background in metallic structural design (composites experience desirable).
- Experience with engineering design toolsets; knowledge of CATIA V5 is beneficial.
- Ability to analyse, propose, and independently resolve technical issues.
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to delivering high standards of quality and customer value.
- Airbus commercial aircraft and wing structure experience is highly desirable.
Working Pattern & Requirements
100% onsite at Broughton Plant to provide handsāon build support.
Doubleāday shift pattern:
- Early shift: 06:00ā13:10
- Late shift: 13:30ā20:40
Includes 20% shift uplift. Occasional adāhoc WFH may be possible, but presence on site is essential to support production needs.
Pay & Benefits
£32.89 per hour (PAYE) or £44.00 per hour (Umbrella)
