Join the Team That Builds the Wings the World Flies On

We are excited to partner with Airbus, the world's leading aircraft manufacturer, to recruit a Wing Build Support Engineer for their state‐of‐the‐art Broughton Plant. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a modern engineering environment where innovation, collaboration, and problem‐solving are at the heart of every project. The Broughton site produces wings for around half of all aircraft delivered globally each year—a unique chance to contribute to products that truly connect the world.

About the Role

As a Wing Build Support Engineer, you will be part of the Plant Engineering Team supporting the Single Aisle Component Delivery Teams (CDTs). You will provide fast, effective engineering support that keeps production moving, while also identifying opportunities to improve how things are built. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys being hands‐on, solving technical challenges, and working directly with manufacturing teams to deliver solutions that make a real impact.

What You Will Be Doing

You will play a key role in ensuring smooth integration between Engineering and Manufacturing, including:

  • Acting as the link between Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure designs are optimised for the industrial environment while meeting customer requirements.
  • Providing lineside engineering support, including investigating and resolving design‐related issues via root cause analysis.
  • Communicating industrial requirements into the wider engineering community.
  • Supporting product improvements to reduce recurring and non‐recurring costs and drive down non‐conformances.
  • Identifying and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across methods, tools, and processes (e.g., MEET ethos, AOS and sustainability goals).
  • Acting as deputy to the Delivery Team Leader where required.

What We Are Looking For

You do not need specific qualifications—the emphasis is on strong, relevant experience.

  • Experience in aerospace or similar high‐precision engineering environments.
  • Strong background in metallic structural design (composites experience desirable).
  • Experience with engineering design toolsets; knowledge of CATIA V5 is beneficial.
  • Ability to analyse, propose, and independently resolve technical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to delivering high standards of quality and customer value.
  • Airbus commercial aircraft and wing structure experience is highly desirable.

Working Pattern & Requirements

100% onsite at Broughton Plant to provide hands‐on build support.

Double‐day shift pattern:

  • Early shift: 06:00‐13:10
  • Late shift: 13:30‐20:40

Includes 20% shift uplift. Occasional ad‐hoc WFH may be possible, but presence on site is essential to support production needs.

Pay & Benefits

£32.89 per hour (PAYE) or £44.00 per hour (Umbrella)

Work in one of the most modern and progressive aerospace manufacturing sites in Europe. Opportunity to develop engineering IT skills and expand your technical expertise.

We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome—so if your experience looks slightly different and you think you could add value, we would love to hear from you.
