Location: Filton (hybrid on‑site, minimum 60%)
Hours: 35 hours per week, flexible within 7am-7pm
Pay: ÂŁ38.88 per hour PAYE / ÂŁ52 per hour Umbrella (dependent on signatory status)

Guidant Global is proud to partner with Airbus to recruit a Static Stress Engineer who will play a key role in developing and improving wing structures across major aircraft programmes. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong aerospace stress analysis experience, particularly within Airbus environments, who is ready to contribute to high‑impact engineering work while continuing to grow their expertise.
What You'll Be Doing
In this role, you'll contribute directly to the structural integrity and certification of Airbus wing components. Your work will include:
- Structural Analysis & Certification
- Performing static stress analysis on fixed‑wing structures using Airbus PMTs.
- Conducting trade studies and supporting design improvements.
- Assessing impacts of in‑service occurrences and supporting risk assessments.
- Producing and compiling stress justification reports and certification dossiers (metallic & composite).
- Collaboration & Delivery
- Working closely with Wing Engineering teams across Airbus.
- Reporting progress to Delivery Team Leaders and Senior/Lead Stress Engineers.
- Contributing to high‑quality documentation and signatory-level reviews (if delegated).
What We're Looking For
Essential Experience
- Strong background in aerospace stress analysis.
- Previous experience working within Airbus and familiarity with Airbus' tools and ways of working.
- Hands‑on experience in airframe certification, static analysis, and in‑service investigations.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work to delivery timelines.
Desirable Skills
- Engineering degree or equivalent.
- Delegated signatory approval (or working towards it).
- Working knowledge of Nastran, Hyperworks, Python scripting and ISAMI.
- Experience with Airbus wing structures.
Security & Compliance
- BPSS+ clearance required (processed by Airbus Security).
- IR35: This role falls inside IR35.
