We are looking for a Safety & Reliability Engineer to join our Team, in Filton.

The Role:

  • Support the development activities associated with the ATA28 (Fuel) and ATA32 (Landing Gear) systems, subsystems and equipment, including coordination with suppliers and flight tests.
  • Support the Airbus ATA28 (Fuel) and ATA32 (Landing Gear) teams as the Safety focal point for Functional Safety activities.
  • Generate and review Safety Assessment and Common Cause Analyses for Aircraft Systems (FHA, pSSA, SSA, PRA, Fault Trees, Quantitative and Qualitative Assessments).
  • Work with other ATA28 and ATA32 Engineers and signatories along with interfaces such as Systems and Structures interfaces, Certification specialists, Chief Engineers, Procurement and Vendors.
  • Support Airbus Commercial ATA28 and ATA32 System activities, including introducing new functionality to systems, ensuring robust cascade of requirements to the system, and supporting the development of the system to meet those requirements.
  • Support phase reviews and Validation and Verification activities, ensuring activity meets Safety and technical needs, following the appropriate processes and procedures, demonstrating strong requirement adherence and V&V.
  • Definition of the System development activities required within a Statement of Work (SoW) for each task, deriving planning and resource needs.

Experience required:

  • University degree in Engineering.
  • Proven experience in Aeronautical engineering, ideally in the field of Safety and Reliability engineering.
  • Experience with Safety processes, regulations and guidelines (CS/AC 25.1309, ARP 4761, ARP 4754A).
  • Good knowledge of Aircraft Systems.
  • Experience managing requirements, including using DOORS, is desirable.
  • Experience in the Fuel and/or Landing Gear perimeter would be beneficial.
  • Track record of working on complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and staff members, ensuring delivery on time, cost, and quality.
