As the jobholder you will be working to provide technical Manufacturing Engineering (ME) support to suppliers across serial programmes as well as for the next A/C generation. You will manage New product Introduction, Transfer of Work and you will be a development industrial leader focused across the Single Aisle aircraft family (A320/A321) but may include support to all programmes. Is responsible to Develop Industrial Capability and lead industrialisation of Aero structure & Detail Parts Supply Chain, securing Industrial Performance, driving Industrial Improvements & Innovation of our Suppliers. You will coordinate activities within your perimeter and cascade information to key stakeholders both internally and externally via established reporting means. Works on non-quality in Airbus Aero structure & Detail Parts Supply Chain Drives process improvement, technology dissemination & industrial innovation projects at suppliers. For Aero structure & Detail Parts suppliers: Use manufacturing expertise to improve quality and support the capability of our suppliers Act as manufacturing Industrial Authority for development projects with a focus on code sign philosophy.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM
- Analyses Industrial Capability of Potential suppliers
- Contribute to the Transfer of Work project team within our supplier network
- Organise industrial kick off meeting with the supplier
- Lead Supplier Industrial Reviews until Industrial Coordination Handover.
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis of Technical Abnormalities with Procurement Operations to determine if the issue is caused by manufacturing capability.
- Within Design Reviews you must be able to contribute to design to manufacture for industrialisation (manufacturing capability).
ABOUT YOU
- Technical background in manufacturing engineering with a manufacturing background (Either metallic or composite detail part manufacture)
- Must have sound knowledge of manufacturing processes and methods and the ability to assess design drawings for detailed manufacture with particular focus on manufacturability.
- Must have a good understanding of tolerances and drawing dimensioning with machineability in mind.
- Working knowledge of CATIA
- Aerospace experience/background preferable
- Degree level in Engineering or equivalent
