THE ROLE

Step into a pivotal leadership role at Airbus, where you will shape the industrial performance of critical commercial and defense programmes, including the A220, A320, A350, and A400M. Leading a dynamic, transnational team across the UK and North America, you will be at the forefront of driving strategic supplier development and safeguarding the supply chain against operational risks. This is an exceptional opportunity for an influential leader to excel in a demanding operational environment, directly impacting Airbus' global Final Assembly Lines and pioneering continuous improvement strategies that define the future of aerospace manufacturing.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM

  • Ensure total on-time and on-quality delivery to Final Assembly Lines and Section Build sites across Airbus, Airbus Defense and Space, and Airbus Canada by establishing robust preventative measures.
  • Shift operations from reactive problem-solving to proactive supplier management, utilizing Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), capacity management, and comprehensive risk mitigation for Transfers of Work (ToW) and New Product Introductions.
  • Direct, develop, and upskill a geographically dispersed team located in Filton and North America, fostering a culture centered on "management by fact" and data-driven operational excellence.
  • Partner with supplier top management to align their industrial policies with Airbus expectations, driving performance improvements through SQIP programs and QSR (Quality Escape) Prevention plan reviews.
  • Act as the premier Supply Chain & Quality representative within the Multi-Functional Team (MFT), directly influencing key strategic decisions such as sourcing strategies and Call For Tenders, while decisively leading responses to operational crises.

ABOUT YOU

  • Previous experience operating at a management level within manufacturing engineering, specifically grounded in operational, production, or quality management environments.
  • Demonstrated track record of overseeing complex external supplier networks, including executing global industrial surveillance, capacity assessments, and managing large-scale continuous improvement projects.
  • Deep technical knowledge and practical experience deploying industrial quality frameworks, root cause analysis, and preventative risk management tools.
  • Proven capability in leading multi-site or international engineering/manufacturing operations, managing complex product developments, part shortages, and large-scale industrialization projects.
  • Strong technical command of manufacturing processes and supply chain data analytics, with the ability to interpret complex performance metrics to dictate sourcing strategy and crisis interventions.
