About us: Join the A320 Family Development Programme Team, where we lead the development of the A320 Family aircraft. Our team manages the entire modification lifecycle, from initial concept to design, manufacturing, and flight. This is a unique opportunity for an intern to gain exposure to a wide range of Airbus disciplines. We are the only department at Airbus Commercial that oversees an aircraft modification from start to finish, providing a comprehensive, end-to‑end perspective. Our projects are mainly focused on structures, electrical and mechanical system installations, as well as various other systems topics. As an integral part of our team, you will learn and contribute to this complete process.

What you will be doing:

  • Work on projects to improve the aircraft, lower its weight, and also update the material used to contribute towards our long term environmental responsibilities
  • Train the potential future employees of Airbus
  • Spend time learning the way Airbus works, increase the Airbus product knowledge and learn soft skills to be an effective leader, along with greater knowledge on business cases
  • Follow up on the progress of the Engineering and manufacturing workforce on the many projects the department is leading
  • Learn from the project leader how to efficiently run and conduct a meeting in this industry
  • The candidate will be traveling to other Airbus sites and suppliers to physically review the project progress
  • Support troubleshooting of project activities

Requirements:

Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.

Your application should include a CV along with a Cover Letter outlining your motivation and suitability for the role.

The successful candidate must be studying towards an Engineering degree in one of the following subjects:

  • Structures Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Systems Engineering
  • Aerospace Engineering
  • Aeronautical Engineering
  • Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • Mathematical and Technology Engineering

The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate the following skills:

  • Nice to have knowledge of Artificial Intelligence
  • Ability to think outside the box and take initiative to solve problems

Security Clearance:

You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. You may also need to gain UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.
