Join Airbus at our Flight and Integration Test Centre in Filton as a Test Facility Operator, where you will manage the heartbeat of our cutting‑edge Hydrogen Test Facility. In this critical position, you will ensure our test rigs are primed to push the boundaries of aerospace technology while maintaining the highest technical and safety standards. Responsibilities

  • Support the end‑to‑end operation of the hydrogen facility, guaranteeing the seamless supply of liquid hydrogen (LH2), liquid nitrogen (LN2), and power to critical aerospace test rigs.
  • Act as the primary custodian of the ATEX environment by managing facility access, leading rigorous walk‑around inspections, and maintaining the Hazardous Area Management System.
  • Specify, design, and develop Lab Test Means (LTM) and subsystems while providing technical support for production, manufacturing, verification, and validation.
  • Author, implement, and continuously evolve detailed risk assessments and Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) for all facility systems and operations.
  • Troubleshoot complex hardware issues, identify system bottlenecks, manage equipment obsolescence, and actively contribute to the long‑term evolution strategy of the facility.

Qualifications

  • Hold an NVQ Level 3, HNC, or Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Possess a proven background in facility operations within hazardous or process‑driven sectors, such as Oil & Gas, Chemicals, or Energy.
  • Demonstrate deep, practical familiarity with ATEX and DSEAR regulations.
  • Ideally hold a CompEx Ex14 (Responsible Person) qualification, or possess the willingness and capability to achieve this certification within your first 6 months.
  • Have hands‑on, technical experience operating, maintaining, or testing high‑pressure systems or cryogenic fluids.
  • Be aware of any potential compliance risks and commit to act with integrity.
