SECURITY CLEARANCE: You will be subject to BPSS and Export Control checks (including a criminal record check). Airbus is currently seeking a formal and dedicated Supply Officer to join our team in Filton. Operating within the Supply Management department for Landing and Fuel System Equipment, our team serves as the critical link between global suppliers across Europe and the U.S. and Airbus's international production sites. The primary accountability of this role is to ensure a seamless supply of essential components-including landing gears, wheels, brakes, and fuel equipment-thereby preventing any disruption to Airbus's manufacturing schedules and aircraft programs. In this capacity, the successful candidate will manage a diverse supplier portfolio, overseeing the flow of components to ensure products are delivered on time and in accordance with expressed needs.
Responsibilities include managing ordering data, forecasting requirements, and initiating purchase orders based on MRP demand. Furthermore, the Supply Officer will facilitate vital communication between suppliers and internal customers while remaining responsible for the management of parasitic flow and missing parts to maintain operational continuity.
How you will contribute to the team
- Supply Chain Optimization: Monitors and ensures the delivery of the correct parts in precise quantities and locations by managing purchase orders and optimizing logistical parameters such as safety stock, batch sizes, and reorder points.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Maintains the supplier portfolio and first-tier relationships through daily interfaces, performance reviews, and the provision of feedback to ensure alignment with delivery (D1) and quality (R1) standards.
- Operational Monitoring and KPIs: Utilizes process performance measures and Key Performance Indicators-including Missing Parts, VMI Level of Service, and stock levels-to track efficiency and analyze MRP exception messages.
- Issue Resolution and Troubleshooting: Supports quality assurance and administrative functions by resolving issues related to reordering after scrap/rejections, troubleshooting goods receipts, and managing technical or invoice discrepancies.
- Communication and Escalation: Ensures consistent updates to internal customers regarding delivery forecasts and "line of balance," initiating timely escalation processes to prevent late supply from impacting production schedules.
