Airbus Helicopters Ltd is looking for six Aircraft Engineering Apprentices to join us at RAF Shawbury in Shropshire. Vacancies include B1.3 Mechanical and B2 Avionic Apprentices. Each apprentice will report to the Training and Compliance Manager and the MFTS Maintenance Operations Manager.
Responsibilities
- Study and complete CAA Part 66 aviation engineering module examinations and practical tasks on time.
- Work residentially with our training provider at Kemble Airfield and during normal hours at Kidlington.
- Develop mechanical helicopter maintenance and rectification knowledge, skills and safe systems of work.
- Record, collate evidence of maintenance and rectification activities suitable for the apprenticeship standard.
- Work at height, handle substances hazardous to health and operate in confined areas.
- Assist in day‑to‑day running of the hangars, including aircraft movement and general housekeeping responsibilities.
Qualifications & Selection Criteria
- Positions may be located at any AHUK site – flexibility regarding location is required.
- GSAT training, DBS Security Clearance and eligibility for SC clearance.
- Travel within the UK to the place of work (Kidlington) and residential stays at Kemble Airfield.
- Right to remain and work in the UK.
- Strong background in English, Maths and Physics; GCSE and A‑level evidence preferred.
- Ability to meet ITAR/Export Compliance requirements.
