JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a Senior Assembly Engineer to join our team in Belfast, Northern Ireland, supporting the production of the A220 Wing. This is a key role within the Materials and Processes M&P organisation, focused on managing engineering activities related to assembly and driving continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM
- Manage all engineering activities related to assembly at the Belfast facility.
- Support plant production by resolving technical issues, drawing on personal expertise and the
- wider M&P network.
- Lead or support product and process improvements for assembly build operations.
- Coordinate and communicate regularly with stakeholders on all assembly-related matters.
- Build strong working relationships across business functions and engineering teams.
- Ensure compliance with approved assembly selection lists and design principles, contributing to
- continuous development and process excellence.
ABOUT YOU
- Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline, with experience in an assembly engineering environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of assembly processes, including fasteners, structural hardware, drilling, bolting, corrosion protection, and fuel tank sealing.
- Confident in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications, with a solid understanding of wing structure, build processes, and M&P qualification procedures.
- Familiar with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies, with a proactive approach to driving efficiency and quality.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver shared objectives.
- Skilled in presenting technical information clearly and appropriately for different audiences.
- Acts with integrity and professionalism, supporting the company\βs reputation and long-term success.
Experience with metallic and composite materials, basic stress methods, and assembly supply chain knowledge (e.g. fastener suppliers) would be an advantage.
