What you will be doing

This is your opportunity to make a difference by directly contributing to the development of the next generation of fuel efficient, sustainable and low emission aircraft.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research Engineer in the Airframe Wing Research and Technology team at Airbus Filton. The successful candidate will be working on Airbus flagship sustainable aircraft project; ZEROe, which is aiming to certify a hydrogen powered aircraft for entry into service in the 2040s.

Requirements

Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.

Your application should include a CV along with a Cover Letter outlining your motivation and suitability for the role.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Studying towards a degree in Mechanical, Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering;
  • Strong interest in design engineering from initial concept through to detail design;
  • Curiosity, creativity and open mindedness;
  • Ability to listen, understand and communicate information;
  • Desire to openly collaborate in a diverse team environment;
  • Strong commitment to develop yourself.

Security

SECURITY CLEARANCE: You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. You may also need to gain UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.
