About us:
Airbus UK design, manufacture and manage the Supply Chain for Wings, Landing Gear and Fuel Systems on all Airbus Commercial Aircraft. Wing manufacture is performed at the world class Broughton Production facility whilst design and supply chain management is based in Filton, Bristol. Components and parts are delivered from a supply chain spanning the globe. This supply chain is managed from the UK, and delivers into the Airbus Wing manufacturing plant in Broughton for onward delivery to Final Assembly Lines located in France, Germany, USA, Canada and China.
Around 80% of Airbus activity is sourced. Working with more than 12,000 suppliers worldwide that provide products and services for flying and non-flying parts, joining the Procurement team will put you at the heart of Airbus where you will operate in a truly international environment. To manage all of this the Airbus Procurement function is diverse in its activities and the apprenticeship programme provides you the opportunity to experience different roles within this.

Through this apprenticeship you\’ll gain a full understanding of Procurement and Supply Chain and learn how to apply this knowledge within a world class business environment.
What you will be doing:
During your Airbus apprenticeship, you will build an understanding of the end to end supply chain through the Procurement process, from sourcing activities through to contract and supplier management. The apprenticeship programme will see you undertaking a variety of rotational placements within teams in and around Procurement, during which you may also have the opportunity to work within Airbus teams internationally. You will gain hands-on experience with placements in Commercial (Flyable) Procurement, General Procurement and Supply Chain Operations, amongst others.
Our 4 year and 3 months Procurement and Supply Chain Management Degree apprenticeship gives you the opportunity to gain valuable experience within this dynamic and challenging area. You will gain a BSc Supply Chain Management with Procurement (Professional Practice) delivered by Aston University, studying via a combination of block release at the university and dedicated time allocated to studying as well as on-the-job work experience, at our world leading engineering and manufacturing site in Filton, Bristol. We take your development seriously and throughout your programme there will be opportunities for further training and development activities.
Your role will be varied, developing your skills in all elements of supplier management, negotiation and contract management all whilst working with a diverse range of stakeholders from across the business, as well as Airbus suppliers. Your work based projects will underpin your learning and ensure you develop yourself through practical application of university study.
In addition to your work placements and studies, there are opportunities to join a wide variety of employee networks including a dedicated Early Careers network, Generation Airbus, Balance for Business, Breathe and embRACE to help you develop both your professional and personal skills along the way. You will also be supported by like minded apprentices, other Early Careers and members of senior management.
Requirements:
We are looking for curious and driven individuals with a desire to launch their career in Procurement, and build an understanding of the wider Airbus business. No previous procurement/supply chain experience is required. To be successful, you will need to be comfortable with communicating with a wide range of people and proactively collaborate within and beyond your placement teams to benefit from opportunities and implement solutions successfully.
In order to be eligible for this apprenticeship opportunity, you must have a minimum of:
- 3 A Levels – a minimum of two B\’s and one C, or equivalent subject to validation
AND
- Minimum GCSE Grade C/4 or above in Mathematics and English Language
A-levels in Business, Economics or Maths would be an advantage but not essential.
