Job Description

SECURITY CLEARANCE: You will be subject to BPSS and Export Control checks (including a criminal record check).

TRAVEL REQUIRED: Occasional travel within UK and international.

LOCATION: Filton, Bristol (A minimum 60% of your working week must be office based).

TYPE: Full time.

Do you like connecting with people and different organisations? Are you interested in developing wing structures? We are a team of Structural Engineers who are a mixture of Technical Experts and Design Specialists who are all passionate about finding technical solutions to support the structures department. We can help you develop technically and personally in the role and you will work as part of a multidisciplinary design team deployed onto one of the current Airbus programmes.

How you will contribute to the team

  • Creating design solutions, technical studies and investigations to ensure the delivery of technical solutions in accordance with relevant design methods and requirements from initial concept design through to supporting A/C in service.
  • Support on-going continuous improvement initiatives to increase team efficiency through methods, process and other capability improvements.
  • Technical leadership and people development of Internal and External designers within the team is a key requirement to the role. You will support the functional development of the design engineers within the team and ensure development opportunities are progressed.

About you

  • Experience within a Design environment along with a sound engineering knowledge of Manufacturing and Design techniques, procedures and practices.
  • Knowledge and experience of design toolsets i.e. CATIA V5, ICC, ECM, Sollings & PASS.
  • Knowledge of composite materials would be of benefit but not essential.
  • Design Signatory Level or capability within a very short timeframe.
