Your journey begins with a nine‑month vocational foundation diploma, after which you\’ll join our experts at Filton and dive into real engineering work on our Commercial Aircraft programmes.
You will be assigned to a department with significant career potential, including:

- Fuel & Inerting Systems
- Flight Physics
- Fuel & Landing Gear Testing
We empower apprentices with placement flexibility, offering deep technical expertise in core areas while developing diverse skills through rotations in various engineering departments. This blend of academic study, on‑job experience, and training ensures a successful career.
What You Will Be Doing
The Apprenticeship offers a full degree with no fees, vocational training and a regular salary. You will earn a BEng (Hons) Aerospace Engineering, Level 2 Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering and Level 4 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, working toward a professional IEng level award.
Placements may include:
- Architecture and Integration
- Design (Wing structures and/or systems installation)
- Simulation
- Analysis (Static Stress & Fatigue & Damage Tolerance)
- Systems Installation Safety Analysis
- Research and Technology
- Certification
- Ground and Flight Test
- In‑Service Support
- Digital (coding, AI, ML, data analytics, optimisation, methods and tools)
- Materials, Processes and Test
- Wing Structures Repairs
You will also develop skills in:
- Project Management through placements with Chief Engineers or other departments
- Business and financial knowledge
- Leadership through projects with a broad range of people
Requirements
Eligibility requires a minimum of:
- 112 UCAS points or above: 3 A levels (BBC or above), including Maths at B or above and Physics or Chemistry at C or above, plus an additional A‑level/AS‑level/BTEC Diploma
- BTEC Extended Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field with minimum grade DMM or D (Advanced Manufacturing Engineering)
- T Levels – a minimum of Merit overall in Engineering and Manufacturing, with additional qualification in Maths at Level 3 preferable
Additionally:
- GCSE Maths and English – minimum Grade 5/B
Successful candidates will demonstrate:

- Problem‑solving and communication skills in a fast‑paced setting
