About the Role
Are you passionate about Aircraft Structures with strong experience in F&DT and Static Stress? Are you curious and keen to support technical investigations arising from in-service issues on our A300/A310 fleet of over 260 aircraft with more than 20 operators? Are you motivated by taking an active role in projects related to digitalisation, sustainability, and obsolescence management to support the next 15+ years of operation with our key freight customers and unique operators? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you as the A300/A310 Wing Lead F&DT and Static Stress Engineer, part of the Wing Structures Engineering team. This role offers a unique chance to work on diverse engineering tasks focused on delivering value to our customers.
Your primary responsibilities will include supporting the Chief Engineers Office, leading in-service investigations, and supporting modifications and improvements. You will be responsible for delivering design data in line with processes and working closely with signatories, Airworthiness, Repair teams, and subcontractors. You will also have opportunities to develop skills in Static Stress, F&DT, and Design tasks, and work on other Airbus programmes such as A320, A330, and A380.
Main tasks include:
- Being the focal point for F&DT and Static Stress queries and support to operators and authorities
- Updating F&DT and Static Stress calculations and reports based on investigations and evolving requirements
- Developing towards delegated signatory authority for A300/A310 Wing F&DT and Static Stress
- Leading in-service continued airworthiness analyses
- Reporting critical technical issues to the Chief Engineers\’ Office
About you
- You have experience in Fatigue & Damage Tolerance, ideally on Wing In-Service projects, and can understand F&DT and Static calculations to support queries and investigations
- You are curious, autonomous, and excited about leading or supporting varied tasks, with opportunities to gain delegated signatory authority
- You possess excellent communication skills to liaise with stakeholders across different teams and locations
