Airbus is looking for a Quality Engineering Manager to join our A220 Engineering team in Belfast. This is a key role that will see you leading functional quality directives and working closely with the A220 Engineering program management team. You\βll play a critical part in ensuring the quality of our engineering deliverables and supporting the ramp-up of the A220 program.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM
You will be a Quality Leader: You will lead and direct functional quality directives, ensuring the entire A220 Engineering team is aligned with the highest standards and processes to achieve program goals.
You will be a Catalyst for Improvement: You will drive continuous improvement by deploying robust problem-solving methodologies, such as 8D (Eight Disciplines) and 9S (Nine Steps), and risk mitigation processes, directly enhancing the performance and efficiency of engineering deliverables.
You will be a Guardian of Compliance: You will assure continued adherence to customer and regulatory requirements, safeguarding the integrity and quality of our products throughout the development lifecycle.
You will be a Key Partner in Program Success: You will be a central part of the A220 Engineering program management team, ensuring that all engineering deliverables meet critical on-time, on-cost, and on-quality targets to support the program\βs successful rate ramp-up.
ABOUT YOU
Quality Management Systems (QMS): Expertise in implementing and maintaining quality systems, particularly within an aerospace manufacturing environment. This includes knowledge of industry standards such as AS9100 or similar.
Root Cause Analysis & Problem Solving: Proven ability to apply structured problem-solving methodologies like 8D (Eight Disciplines) and 9S (Nine Steps) to identify and resolve complex engineering and process issues.
Risk Mitigation Techniques: Proficiency in using tools for technical risk assessment and prevention, such as DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and establishing \βearly warning\β systems.
Supplier Quality Management: Experience in managing quality processes across the supply chain, including defining performance metrics, conducting audits, and facilitating quality reviews with external suppliers.
Engineering Data Analysis & Reporting: Skill in collecting, analysing, and reporting on key quality metrics to provide insights and support data-driven decisions for both plant and program leadership.
