About Our Team Airbus Helicopters is the world’s largest helicopter manufacturer and the company’s site at Oxford Airport is Britain’s civil helicopter hub.

Position Summary As a Technical Author for AHUK, you will be responsible for creation and control of task cards and work cards for engineers and technicians. Working with maintenance managers, planning engineers, and hangar floor staff, you will extract key task milestones and format them into clear, easy‑to‑read documents that facilitate correct and logical execution of tasks.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Translate complex tasks from the AMM or Service Bulletins into clear, sequential task cards.
  • Version control to ensure shop floor uses latest revision, preventing work on superseded data.
  • Usability testing by physically validating workcards with technicians to ensure instructions are executable.
  • Review and continuous improvement with key users to continually improve accuracy and validity of data.

Knowledge and Skills

Essential:

  • Experience with complex engineering processes
  • Ability to understand, extract and write technical instruction in clear English
  • IT literacy (Microsoft processing / GSuite)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)
  • Thorough attention to detail
  • Ability to think clearly using logic and reasoning
  • Proper and effective administration skills
  • Ability to engage with key stakeholders, compile information and produce clear document sets that encapsulate key themes and ideas

Desirable:

  • Aviation experience as a maintainer
  • Part 145 and Part-CAMO knowledge
  • Maintenance planning exposure
  • Knowledge of Envision

Education, Qualifications or Training

Essential:

  • Engineering qualification (Level 3 equivalent or above)

Desirable:

  • Part 145 / Part CAMO familiarisation training
  • Aviation industry training

Additional Requirements:

  • DBS Security Clearance and eligibility for SC clearance
