About Our Team Airbus Helicopters is the world’s largest helicopter manufacturer and the company’s site at Oxford Airport is Britain’s civil helicopter hub. AHUK offers considerable experience in helicopter sales, bespoke completions, maintenance and spares support. Its in‑house engineering capabilities include design, customisation, installation, flight‑testing and certification, as well as technical support, maintenance, training and the supply of spares for civil and military applications.

Job Description

The role as a B1 Licensed Engineer is to carry out the certification of maintenance and repair on Airbus rotorcraft AS350, Series, EC130, EC135, EC145, H135, H145 and H160.

Main Responsibilities

  • Accomplishment of maintenance inspections and repairs as directed by Maintenance Supervisors.
  • Certifying role that requires a Part 66 Licence in B1.3 (Turbine Rotorcraft) and the ability to work as a team leader to ensure continued safe operation of the aircraft.
  • Working knowledge of UK CAA regulations: Part 145, Part M and UK ANO requirements is essential.
  • Completion of maintenance, including airframe structure, power plant, mechanical and electrical systems; replacement of avionic line‑replaceable units and performing simple tests to prove serviceability.
  • Supervision of maintenance fitters and certification of their work.
  • Assistance in day‑to‑day running of the hangar, including aircraft movement and general housekeeping responsibilities.

Essential Knowledge and Skills

  • Thorough knowledge of engine and airframe systems and specialised test equipment.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
  • Flexibility to the requirements of the company and the needs of the customer.

Essential Education, Qualifications or Training

  • Part 66 B1.3 Licence.

Desirable

  • Experience in a rotary environment. Type training on specific types will be given to a suitable candidate.

  • Ability to relate readily to potential customers and to be highly persuasive in advocating the advantages of Airbus Helicopters products.
  • Fundamental requirement to listen to customers, identify and understand their problems with a view to formulating and driving sustainable solutions.
  • Well‑developed interpersonal skills and excellent communication at all levels.

Additional Requirements

  • Due to the nature of this position you will require DBS Security Clearance and be eligible for SC clearance.
  • Applicants must meet any/all requirements of ITAR and Export Compliance Regulations.
  • Position is based at Oxford Airport, UK. Travel within the UK or abroad to support related business requirements (not extensive).
