AHUK offers considerable experience in helicopter sales, bespoke completions, maintenance and spares support. Its in‑house engineering capabilities include design, customisation, installation, flight‑testing and certification, as well as technical support, maintenance, training and the supply of spares for civil and military applications. AHUK is the MoD’s chosen provider of helicopters and maintenance for its No.1 Defence Helicopter Flying school (MFTS) located in RAF Shawbury (Shropshire) and RAF Valley (Anglesey).
Description / Overall Purpose Of The Job
AHUK has an exciting new opportunity arising as a result of a new contract to support aircraft for the MoD located in Brunei. The aircraft are engaged in a variety of tasks and will need to have maximum availability for the customer. The role involves aircraft engineering in a challenging and dynamic environment, contributing to the success of the contract and the operational capability of the customer. The initial on‑site duration is expected to be until 2028, with potential for extension.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure aircraft are prepared for the day's flying activity.
- Line maintenance activities.
- Participate in base maintenance on site in Brunei.
- Defect rectification and fault diagnosis.
- Fulfil production duties on site as directed by the chief engineer.
- Maintain flexibility with on‑call periods and varying start and finish times.
Essential Skills and Knowledge
- Experienced aircraft engineer with extensive rotary‑craft expertise.
- Pragmatic, flexible, and safety‑focused with strong regulatory compliance.
- Good knowledge of Part 145 regulation.
- Methodical approach to engineering problems with strong fault‑diagnosis abilities.
- Capability to work closely with the customer and build relationships to achieve objectives.
Essential Education, Qualifications or Training
- UK CAA Licensed Engineer.
- Type‑rated on the H145 BK117 D‑2/3 helicopter.
- Military training or civilian apprenticeship/qualification in aircraft maintenance.
- Knowledge of CAP 562 Leaflet B40.

- DBS Security Clearance and eligibility for SC clearance.
