Description / Overall Purpose of the Job
Airbus Helicopters UK is currently seeking to appoint a Part‑147 Aircraft Engineering B1.3 Mechanical Instructor / Examiner / Practical Assessor to work within the Part‑147 training team.
Main Responsibilities
- Carry out type training theoretical and practical instructional duties for which they are qualified
- Act as Theoretical Examiner and Practical Assessor in line with CAA / EASA Part‑66 & Part‑147 Regulations
- Compile questions for examination banks for which they are qualified
- Serve as invigilator for theoretical examinations
- Ensure that the training department adheres to company training and engineering procedures and operates efficiently
- Act as Training Manager during prolonged absence
- Ensure the security and validity of all examinations in accordance with CAA / EASA Part‑66 and Part‑147
- Coordinate all examination timetables
- Travel within the UK and overseas to deliver and receive training as required
- Compile training course material
Knowledge and Skills – Essential
- Extensive practical experience on the following aircraft and engine types:
- Airbus Helicopters EC135 all variants
- MBB BK117‑D2
- MBB BK117‑C2
- SAFRAN Arrius 2B series engines
- Arriel 2E engine
- PWC PW206 engine
- Relevant experience in civil aviation environment or acceptable equivalent (maintenance, engineering, design organisation, etc.)
- Knowledge of CAA and EASA regulations, including CAA CAP1528, CAP1529 and EASA UG.CAO0.00154‑002
- Experience as a Theoretical Examiner and Practical Assessor
- Compliance with CEFR B1 level as required by CAA CAP1528
- Ability to design, compile and construct training course material and presentations for various courses (Type, Engine, Familiarisation, Differences, etc.)
Knowledge and Skills – Desirable
- Experience with Google Suite (Gmeet, Google Docs, Google Slides, etc.)
- Experience with synthetic training devices
- Experience within a civil training organisation
- Understanding of EASA UG.CAO.00169
- Experience with distance learning techniques
Education, Qualifications or Training – Essential
Hold a Part‑147 B1 Type Certificate of Recognition for the following Airbus / Eurocopter aircraft types and engines:
- Eurocopter MBB BK117‑C2
- Eurocopter MBB BK117‑D2 (D2 and D3 models)
- Turbomeca Arriel 2E Engine for MBB‑BK117‑D
- Eurocopter EC135T
- Eurocopter EC135P
- Airbus EC135T3H
- Airbus EC135P3H
- Turbomeca Arrius 2B Engine for EC135T and EC135T3H
- PWC PW206 Engine for EC135P and EC135P3H
Instructor Certificate delivered by a legal entity recognised by its local authorities and acceptable to the national authority where the instructor will exercise his privileges.
Education, Qualifications or Training – Desirable
Hold a CAA B1.3 licence for the aircraft types on which the instructor will teach.
Additional Requirements
- Requires DBS Security Clearance and eligibility for SC clearance
- Must meet all Export Compliance Regulations requirements
