Overview
As Lead Data Architect in Flight Physics, you will steer the data architecture strategy to enable digital continuity across global engineering. You’ll guide a cross-functional data team to modernize the data landscape and support current aircraft programs and future aerospace innovations. This role sits at the UK engineering hub and acts as the technical bridge between engineering needs and data platforms. You will shape data products, governance, and secure data flows while fostering an inclusive, high-impact engineering culture.

Responsibilities
- Architect and steer the implementation of the future flight physics data architecture within the Simulation Process and Data Management Platform
- Shape the long-term data strategy and define robust data products for global engineering centers
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineers, custodians, and domain specialists
- Ensure data governance, lineage, security, and compliant data flows across geographies
Key requirements
- Data Architecture Expertise (Data Management, Data Mesh, or PLM/SPDM)
- Experience guiding technical strategy and designing scalable data solutions
- Familiarity with modern data frameworks or modeling tools; platform examples are welcome but not required
- Understanding of data governance, lineage, and classification
- Strong communication and active listening
- Stakeholder management and consensus-building
- Collaborative leadership and mentoring
