Role Overview:
An experienced Infrastructure Engineer will join our growing Cyber Support Engineering team in Newport. The role involves the initial rollout and set‑up of new network infrastructure followed by long‑term maintenance, evolution, and support. You will support internal and external customers, with exposure to multiple cryptographic products and the software development process. Main responsibilities are on‑site, with occasional visits to customer sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support all aspects of network infrastructure, including build, patching, user support, and implementing changes following standard ITIL processes.
- Lead investigations and resolve issues escalated from the help desk.
- Assist and mentor junior team members, sharing knowledge to achieve incident resolution within SLA.
- Maintain and monitor equipment on internal and external classified networks.
Candidate Profile:
Driven individual who takes pride in their work. Experience supporting infrastructure. Experience with Linux (Red Hat), vulnerability scanning (Nessus/TripWire), ESET, Splunk, virtualization (ESXi), SQL servers.
