About The Role

This role will suit an inquisitive Architect - Systems or Software - who loves considering the different aspects of Software and Systems and how they interact and integrate with each other to create new and longstanding products and services. You will be working on the whole lifecycle, creating the core of our Geospatial and satellite data products. This is a marvelous role for someone who considers security by design from the start, this is important as you will be working on Government and MOD projects, focusing on ISR solutions for Airbus Defence and Space. You will join a friendly multi functional team of professionals (testers, developers, lead engineers, project managers, product owner) who create the next generation of Secure Geospatial Software in a collaborative AGILE scrum environment.

How You Will Contribute To The Team

  • Translate business and customer goals and high-level requirements into robust architecture for Geospatial solutions, balancing performance, security, reliability, and compliance
  • Establish end-to-end traceability from requirements to solution design through structured documentation and design rationale, leveraging MBSE (SysML/UML) to model complex system architectures.
  • Drive architectural vision by proactively engaging with key stakeholders to gather pertinent information.
  • Consider efficiency, how different components can be reused and the system can evolve to meet future demands.

About you?

Someone who is interested in the theory, patterns and evolution of longstanding architectures, brings ideas to the table and holds your hand up with questions or spotting red flags within architecture or the full software lifecycle. Happy rolling up your sleeves to find creative solutions, untangle historic situations and uphold security regulations. Strong experience designing and owning architectures for complex systems in a shared services, Service-Oriented, or microservices environment. Any hands-on experience with AWS cloud services would be advantageous. Experience working in environments with security, cybersecurity, reliability, and compliance constraints.

Not a 100% match? No worries! Airbus supports your personal growth with customised development solutions.
