About the role:
We seek an inquisitive engineer with experience in automotive, aerospace, space, advanced manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, medical technology, railway, infrastructure, transportation or aviation to champion systems safety and regulatory compliance in a systems engineering environment. You will design compliant solutions ensuring products and services meet regulatory standards across CE marking directives, environmental and export control, licence compliance and AI, and will develop and enhance system safety and environmental cases for the UK MOD and overseas forces. Initially, you will support new and legacy ground projects in Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) and may later work with space colleagues.
Responsibilities:
- Bring ideas to the table and raise questions or spot red flags.
- Influence internal and external stakeholders on the importance of systems safety throughout projects.
- Understand how compliance, export control, GDPR and AI impact systems safety.
- Act as the key point of contact and lead safety and regulatory compliance for your projects as you develop.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Engineering experience in systems, electronics, electrical, or systems safety.
- Safety experience or knowledge within an engineering environment.
- Pragmatic, solution‑based mindset, comfortable with ambiguity and change.
- Curiosity to learn how safety‑critical systems affect people, environments and products.
- Strong communication skills for audiences across the company hierarchy.
- Experience creating and maintaining reports, data, spreadsheets and documents.
