As a Supplier Quality Manager (SCQM), a member of a Multi Functional Team (MFT), you will be the primary interface with the nominated Supplier(s) and responsible for the relationship between the supplier and Airbus. You will be fully responsible for managing the purchase phase of the supply chain core process and delivering hardware to projects on time, to cost and fulfilling all performance and quality requirements. You will build an open and trustful relationship with the suppliers' employees and management. You will also provide support to all aspects of the Supply Chain process for hardware and participate in schedule and cost improvement initiatives within Airbus and with suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- International travel (approximately 1 week per month)
- Ensure quality and on‑time delivery of hardware from suppliers
- Day‑to‑day contact with the supplier and management of contract implementation (multi‑project, international); timely and accurate reporting to Project Supply Manager; facilitate appropriate technical interaction between project and supplier
- Acquire in‑depth knowledge of supplier leading to effective control and improvement of the supplier
- Identify risks and propose/agree and ensure implementation of mitigating actions
- Take quality responsibility for EQSR, PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR, TRB/SRB & DRB & management of NCR and RFW/D including chairing NRB; quality interface for MIP, EEE and M&P; provide support to quality audits and assessment as required
- Complete annual supplier evaluation (with appropriate support)
- Key member of the MFT representing procurement post contract signature, accountable for Supplier performance and Airbus procurement processes
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Business Management or equivalent
- At least 5 years of experience in activities which have allowed you to acquire sound skills and knowledge of Procurement / Engineering / Quality / Manufacturing
- Ability to anticipate, assess and mitigate risks
- Strong communication skills including active listening and empathy
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to persuade, influence and convince
- Knowledge of procurement IT tools and APQP would be a benefit
- Excellent skills in relationship building, team building, empowerment, motivation and conflict management
- Negotiation level of English
