Over the last 20 years Airbus Defence and Space - Secure Connectivity has become one of the global leaders in secure communications solutions, operations and services ensuring time-and-mission critical communication services.
We are looking for a Business Development Manager and this role will suit someone who wants a people focused role that will still uphold the UK's sovereignty, and has:
- Recently transitioned out of the Royal Navy (ideally >officer level).
- Regular touch points with the Royal Navy either in Sales or another form.
We are looking for someone who can bring their own contacts to the role as well as inherit an established account that comes with existing relationships and existing projects.
How you will Contribute to the team
- Join a friendly and collaborative team of 10+ who are mainly ex military. Utilise the Buddy system and training to understand Airbus’s products and how they contribute to the MOD and Navy.
- Champion our growth in the Maritime sector by identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities, fostering strong customer relationships, and contributing to the strategic expansion of our maritime solutions portfolio.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing and new-to-Airbus key decision-makers and internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead the entire sales cycle, from initial prospecting and qualification to proposal development, negotiation, and contract closure.
- Contribute to the strategic planning and development of our maritime business unit, including talking to technical teams, product development, and marketing to ensure solutions meet customer needs and market demands.
- Represent Airbus at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote our maritime capabilities, including presentations.
About You
- In-depth understanding of the maritime defence sector, including operational challenges, regulatory frameworks, and technological trends.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and articulate complex technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to build rapport and establish trust with senior-level executives and key stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel within the UK, and occasionally internal travel may be required.
