We are looking for a Satellite AIT Delivery Manager to join our team in Stevenage! In this role, you will be accountable for achieving the agreed operational plan, working on a dedicated project to deliver the satellite on Quality, on Time, on Cost.
As the Satellite AIT delivery manager, you will report to the AIT manager, assisting them with cost/schedule definition while directing operational activities with the hardware. You will need to coordinate a multi-functional team (production control, Mechanical/Electrical engineering, scheduler, Shift leads) and provide expert input into problem resolution. You shall assist with anomaly investigations, NCR disposition, schedule what-if's and resource/cost management.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM:
- Assist with cost management by controlling the cleanroom operations in line with the schedule/ECWP and feeding back the Cost of Non-Quality.
- Ensure the delivery of a product is in line with the schedule.
- Monitor and measure input performances / On time delivery (Procurement, Design, KID), and together with the AIT Manager, manage impacts to projects where necessary.
- Produce a detailed Daily Activity Plan from the Go-meeting output.
- Monitor schedule updates and ensure they are agreed by all stakeholders.
- Raise to Satellite AIT line management via the AIT manager any resource issues.
ABOUT YOU:
- Good understanding and detailed experience of all types of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Lean manufacturing techniques including 5S, root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
- Production planning and MRP systems such as SAP.
- Spacecraft AIT.
- Mechanical / electrical processes including detailed assembly, wiring and fitting.
- Mechanical handling of equipment / Satellites.
- Environmental test & launch campaigns.
- Understanding of electrical tests and health checks.
- Interfacing with project, customers and suppliers in an assertive but diplomatic manner.
- Proven interpersonal skills in managing a small team.
