The Electrical System Team supports a range of electrical disciplines which include EMC, RFComms, Harness and Power, contributing to a wide range of National, Earth Observation and Science (EOS), and exploratory based missions, from Bid through to launch. This role therefore demands technical proficiency across various electrical disciplines, alongside strong interpersonal skills and adeptness in planning, organisation, and management.

Establish and implement a robust spacecraft data handling platform to support Functional Avionics (FA) effectively. You will support with electrical engineering responsibilities, including requirements management and verification, associated with various System Components, commonly referred to as "Equipment," including:

  • On-Board Computer (OBC)
  • Remote Interface Unit (RIU)
  • Mass Memory & Formatting Unit (MMFU)
  • Other digital equipment as required, such as Instrument Control Unit (ICU) or Authenticating Unit (AU), among others.

Electrical and software architecture, maintaining them throughout the project lifecycle, and delivering them, along with the Avionics team, to the project while adhering to On Time, On Quality, On Cost (OTOQOC) principles. You will monitor equipment suppliers, collaborating with other disciplines, primarily Functional Avionics, and engaging with the customer, operationally reporting to the Electrical Systems Lead Architect.

Familiarity with general electrical systems applicable to scientific spacecraft and the equipment used therein (degree preferable). Familiarity with the use of software design tools (for power simulation, link budgets, harness design etc...). Many of our staff work flexibly in many different ways, including part-time.
