SECURITY CLEARANCE: Eligibility to gain UK SC Security Clearance OR Developed Vetting (DV).

TRAVEL REQUIRED: Infrequent UK travel.

LOCATION: Portsmouth OR Stevenage (60% of your working week must be office based).

Are you an experienced or early-career Engineer looking to start or expand your career? Wanting to understand how Radiation and Nuclear Hardening activities impact the whole spacecraft system? Interested in working alongside engineers who have 30+ years experience, to interrogate data and create spacecraft simulations? Career prospects are varied and include Project Management, Bids, Budgeting, Team lead and Systems Engineering.

  • Astrophysics or Electrical/Electronics Engineering with a genuine interest in space.
  • Radiation and Nuclear Hardening.
  • Interested in working on advanced spacecraft projects such as Rovers and Satellites for Telecoms, Military/MOD and scientific (Deforestation, pollution and ice cap monitoring) clients.
  • Learn about Radiation and Nuclear Hardening with self-directed learning, shadowing and using the team's knowledge and expertise including local experts.
  • Produce and review relevant documentation - project drawings, performance analysis, bid proposals, radiation analysis, cost estimates, and schedules.
  • Generate component test specification and managing radiation testing of components, project specific environment specifications.
  • Experience of prioritising tasks based on information and project needs, rather than how loud someone is being.
