As the DevOps Manager, you will own the reliability, scalability, and security of Airbox's platform while leading a team of 3 DevOps engineers. Airbox believes that world‑class software is built on a foundation of seamless, invisible infrastructure. In this hands‑on leadership role you will define and execute the DevOps strategy, build robust cloud‑native foundations, and bring structure to a fast‑evolving engineering environment. The main objective is to achieve 100% automation across our platform and CI/CD pipelines. You will work closely with Engineering, Product and Security to ensure our platform is resilient, observable and cost‑efficient.
What you’ll do:
- Lead a team of three engineers, mentoring and coaching while driving the next generation of platform, services and operations.
- Define and own the overarching platform strategy for AWS environments.
- Architect scalable AWS environments using Terraform and optimize GitHub Actions to make high‑frequency releases a “non‑event.”
- Champion DevSecOps and observability, balancing high‑velocity deployments with reliability standards, cost‑optimisations and proactive incident management.
- Standardise tooling, reduce friction and empower developers, bridging the gap between legacy systems and modern, cloud‑native architectures, ensuring live services remain secure, performant and resilient around the clock.
About you:
- Expertise in the AWS ecosystem, particularly Terraform, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines, with a strong foundation in Linux administration and modern observability tools.
- You are a pragmatic problem‑solver who can communicate effectively with non‑technical stakeholders and thrives on driving change through ownership and collaboration.
- Experience with mobile app release or legacy‑modernisation projects is an advantage.
- Core focus remains high‑pressure prioritisation, technical excellence, and structure in fast‑paced, imperfect environments.
What we offer:
- 26 days holiday per year, plus public holidays
- Private medical cover with Bupa for all employees
- Pension scheme with up to 6% matching contribution
- Up to 20 Nomad Working Days per annum
- Electric Car Scheme
- Dynamic, flexible, fun scale‑up environment
- A passionate team working together every day towards ambitious goals
- Flexible working hours (9am‑5pm core, flexible between 7am‑7pm)
- Two mandatory Townhall days (Spring, Autumn) with open office activities and collaboration spaces
