Asbestos Site Auditor

We are seeking a competent and experienced Asbestos Site Auditorto carry out audits, inspections and compliance assessments across asbestos-related works and activities.

The successful candidate will help ensure that asbestos operations are conducted safely, effectively and in accordance with current legislation, industry standards, approved procedures and organisational requirements.

The role will involve reviewing asbestos work practices, site documentation, control measures and contractor performance, while identifying areas of non-compliance and opportunities for improvement.

The successful candidate will provide clear, constructive feedback and produce accurate audit reports to support continuous improvement and maintain high standards of health, safety and quality.

What will you be doing?

  • Conduct site audits and inspections of asbestos surveys, reinspection's, other site activities, including air monitoring, clearance and associated control measures including equipment.
  • Assess compliance with relevant asbestos legislation, regulations, guidance and industry best practice.
  • Review asbestos plans of work, risk assessments, method statements, permits, training records and other relevant documentation.
  • Monitor site practices, including use of PPE/RPE.
  • Identify non-conformances, unsafe practices and areas requiring corrective action.
  • Prepare clear and accurate audit reports, documenting findings, evidence, recommendations and required actions.
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to site teams, contractors and relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor corrective actions and follow up on identified issues to ensure appropriate close-out.
  • Maintain accurate records of audits, inspections, findings and compliance activities.
  • Support the organisation's quality assurance and continuous improvement processes.
  • Keep up to date with changes to asbestos legislation, HSE guidance, industry standards and best practice.
  • Work professionally and independently while maintaining a strong focus on safety, compliance and attention to detail.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5 years site experience minimum, BOHS qualifications P402, P403, P404 and P405 and/or Co CA.
  • Background in asbestos and health and safety
  • Previous experience within the asbestos industry, preferably in auditing, inspection, analysis, air monitoring and clearances.
  • Strong understanding of asbestos legislation, HSE requirements and industry best practice.
  • Excellent observational and analytical skills, with the ability to identify compliance issues and assess risk.
  • Strong report-writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and objectively while maintaining professional relationships with contractors and site personnel.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple audits and associated documentation.
  • Competent use of digital systems for recording findings, producing reports and maintaining audit records.
  • A strong commitment to health, safety, quality and continuous improvement.
